Nearness is a piece by British artists Timo Arnall and Jack Schulze. The piece looks at RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), a technology that has become ubiquitous, from our RISD school IDs to tracking food products and more, but it's one that is ultimately invisible. A piece that "addresses the fictions and speculations of technology," the simple yet effective video looks at the wonder of elements that interact without ever physically touching, conveying the simplicity of the technology but not invalidating its correlating curiosities as it, unseen, pervades our daily lives.
